For more serious infractions, XiaoHongShu may apply a shadowban. This often happens if you use inappropriate or overly promotional keywords in your notes. Depending on the situation, the mute can last anywhere from 24 hours to 30 days. During this time, you can still view posts, but you won’t be able to post new notes, comment, or send private messages.
